One thing about running events on epic trails is that you can’t find epic trails everywhere to do your training on. And, that’s okay. There are tons of ways to prep your body in your training for the needs of the trails, no matter how technical. This video covers a simple bounding drill you can do on just about any surface or grade.
A few pointers you may not get from the short video:
- It’s not a jumping drill. It’s a knee drive and foot strike drill. Stay within yourself on the bounds.
- Every third step with a knee drive is ideal but you can do any combination. Every other, every 5th, it really doesn’t matter.
- Be sure to warm up before the drills.
- You can do this as a set of a set distance, during your runs, or for part of your warm up!
