Join us for a long weekend of trail running adventures in the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains!

The Rocky Mountains are a magical and breathtaking place. From our basecamp in Salida we will soak in views of nearby towering 14,000 foot peaks as we explore a variety of challenging trails during the height of fall colors in Colorado. The crew from Becoming Ultra and your expert coaches will host special clinics and accommodate all levels of runners as we guide you through these vast and sweeping landscapes.

Where will we be running?

Locations include but not limited to the Colorado Trail, Monarch Pass, Great Sand Dunes National park, local trails in Salida. Plan on being out and active most of the day, all activities are voluntary and there will be pacers and options for those looking for longer/shorter excursions.

Recovery is where the magic happens!

• We will host a pi-yo (pilates/yoga fusion) for runners class plus have foam rollers and other massage/stretching devices available for use over the weekend
• Soak in therapeutic natural hot springs
• Cold water therapy session in the Arkansas river.

• Running form/gait session with agility + footwork drills everyone should be doing to improve your trail running technique
• Power hiking tips and technique for steep/technical terrain + proper and most effective use of trekking poles

• Sunset hike to the top of Star Dune, the highest dune in the Great Sand Dunes National Park.
• Explore a section of the famous Colorado Trail during peak fall colors!

WHO IS THIS CAMP FOR?

This camp is for runners and especially wannabe trail and ultra runners who know they can do epic stuff in beautiful places. This camp is for anyone but if you can run 6 miles on the trail with no issues, you’ll enjoy your experience so much more! We will have guided runs from 5-15 miles!

The venue:

The Blue Coyote Ranch is nestled under the shadow of giants: the towering 14,000ft Collegiate peaks. Just miles from downtown Salida the ranch boasts 33 acres of pristine piñon pine forest with trail access on site. Accommodations include private or shared (2 queen beds) rooms in the main ranch house or in one of the spacious cabins onsite. Each room has it’s own private bathroom, the cabins have a living room space and full kitchen available for use. The ranch has a large yard complete with a fire pit, lawn games and hot tub onsite where we can relax with a local brew and regale stories and pictures from the day’s adventures.

Refunds:

Please note this camp and the deposit are non-refundable. There are some great, very affordable travel insurance options that cover cancellations for many causes (even covid related). We will send everyone links to these options in a followup email.
