Let’s get you all caught up with what the team has been up to.

Becoming Ultra 2019

We planned several different events and options this year for Team BU and Becoming Ultra trying to expand our outreach and make our events more accessible to others across the nation apart from our featured race this year at Cloudsplitter.

Season 6 ended with Bandrea back in January, from there our team trained up for some other awesome Spring events. What is special about our coaching and training is that you as a fan or participant are not limited to just our events we plan. For example, there was a small meetup at the Umstead 100 for our team member Ginger gunning for her first 100 miler finish.

Ginger did amazing and surprised herself and stuck with her plan. She learned a lot out there in the North Carolina woods, while Steph and Ileana joined in to help cheer and crew and pace even! Ileana herself is doing Trans-Rockies, a multi-day event, and that will be educational for all of us.

Zion 2019

Zion is becoming a more special place for us each year. This year Scott and Rebecca from Team BU ventured out to cover athletes at the 50k doing their first ultra! Should we go back again next year? Should this be an annual event for Becoming Ultra and our team? Let us know! We can make it happen.

Big and happy news filled this event, but we won’t spoil it for you here.

Blue Ridge Marathon

On the same day, across the country, the Blue Ridge Marathon went off without a hitch, and Steph tackled the double marathon herself, while on course later on with her husband Richard who managed his first marathon on America’s Toughest Road Marathon. Old friends were there and new connections were made. This was truly the road race with a trail vibe.

Don’t forget about those still training!

Chelsea is working with Ellie Greenwood and it turns out hills are part of the plan…already? Let’s listen in on their call and you can join in on the fun too!

Along with Chelsea, we got Kathryn whose one solid goal is to reach Boston by her 30th birthday, apart from her 100k in October. What will happen? You can hear all about it on the podcast. Follow their journeys.
