We get some pretty amazing messages from people all over the world.  Here are a few of our favorite.

I’m from the UK – I’m training for my first ultramarathon and actually I have to say it is all because of your show, I’m listening now to the third series of Becoming Ultra and have been following it all the way through, it made running ultras seem “normal” and so just made it obvious that the next thing I would try to do is train for an ultra!  ~Alice in the UK

Scott, about 3 weeks ago I discovered the BU podcast. After listening to a couple of recent shows I went back to the original podcasts series and began listening to all the old shows. I am almost caught up with the current shows. I am soaking it up like a sponge! In the past year, I have toyed with the idea of “becoming ultra” but didn’t have a clue of how to begin that path. The podcast is giving me the courage to try an ultra when I would dismissed the idea otherwise. Absolutely love the dialogue with the students and coaches and find that many of my questions are being addressed. Keep up the good work. You guys are in my ear buds about 35 miles per week these days! Thanks!  ~ Todd

First, a big thank you to Becoming Ultra. On October 3rd of last year, I ran my first ultra, the Foothills 50K Frenzy, here in Boise, Idaho.  Though my time wasn’t the worst (6:16:27), I bonked hard early and cramped up by mile 10.1…so yes…20 miles on cramping legs.  I was miserable, and I knew I had to figure out what the hell I was doing.  Besides all of the other research and reading I started, one of the most convenient ways I learned was when I got into the iTunes store, and discovered a few ultra running podcasts, including Becoming Ultra.  Not only is Scott an awesome host , which is entertaining enough on its own, but I grew by leaps and bounds from listening to other newbies who were taking on new challenges and races, which lets be honest…always are intimidating until you get the first successful race under your belt.  It felt refreshing to hear about how other people have struggled and I knew I wasn’t alone.  ~Brady from Boise

First, I want to say just how much I love your podcasts. Thank you for putting out such good content day in and day out. I’ve never been more inspired.

I’ll be doing the Beast in Ohio in May. I’m six weeks out and ready to kick my training into high gear for that final stretch. I’ve taken more risks during my training thanks to some of the tips from Becoming Ultra and other podcasts. I’m also inspired and considering tackling my first marathon this year with hopes of loving it and maybe trying an Ultra in the future.

Please keep doing what you do, I look forward to listening!    ~Kristin from Ohio

I’ve been listening to your shows and using your resources as last June I decided (after 10 years of not running at all, and only having run 10km before) to enter my first 100km ultra, giving myself just under a year to go from zero to 100.

That day is almost upon me (May 28th) and I will be going from London to Brighton, 100km in total. As a result of my newly-found joy of running I have also managed to get a place in the London Marathon next month, which I am incredibly excited about (and I see it as a ‘warm up’ for the ultra.. insanity)

Thank you for your hard work and the fantastic resources and shows you put out.

From a web developer Dad / runner / soon-to-be ultra marathoner,   ~Matt from the UK

Hello, I just wanted to thank you for all the work you do. This podcast is by far my favorite. Since I have started listening to this podcast…which has been maybe 2 months…I have signed up for my first trail marathon. I have done a couple half marathon trail runs and wanted to make a full marathon trail run a goal of mine this year.  ~Shanna from Oklahoma

I just started listening to your podcast recently and have really enjoyed it.  I like the tips and tricks, and hearing other people’s stories about their training, races, hardships and accomplishments.   ~ Chris from Colorado

First, thank you for everything. this is a fantastic podcast and I love beng listening on the long runs!

I am about to start the official training for my first 50K (late October) then 50 mile (April) I have been doing road running marathons, but a couple months ago I found the trails and I am hooked!  ~James from Illinois
